Big Data: Because of the extensive use of the Internet and the digitalization of manyforms of information, including health records, big data in healthcare refers to vast amounts ofdata that are too immense or complex for conventional technology to comprehend. It can helpnurses and other medical professionals make accurate decisions, get the right information at theright time to support the best clinical decisions, and give patients timely and accurate care, all ofwhich can have a big impact on nurses’ evidence-based practice and the standard of clinical carethey provide for patients (Favaretto et al., 2020).Data science: Massive amounts of fragmented, organized, and unstructured data can beprocessed, managed, analyzed, and integrated into healthcare systems with the use of datascience. This data needs to be administered and analyzed properly in order to produce accurateresults (Grossi et al., 2021).Data mining: In order to understand and analyze data in an effort to predict additionalvariables or find connections within the data, data mining uses computer methods from statistics,machine learning, and pattern recognition. Data mining can be used by healthcare businesses tochoose customer relationship management strategies, healthcare insurers to identify fraud andabuse, doctors to uncover effective treatments and best practices, and patients to receive better,more affordable healthcare (Wu et al., 2021).

Data analytics: Data analytics is the process of examining raw numbers to find patterns,draw conclusions, and suggest areas for improvement. Healthcare analytics uses both recent andhistorical data to produce macro and micro insights and support corporate and patient decision-making (Batko & Ślęzak, 2022).
2Machine learning: Artificial intelligence (AI) and computer science’s field of machinelearning focuses on using data and algorithms to simulate how people learn, with the aim ofprogressively increasing accuracy. The healthcare industry is undergoing a change thanks tomachine learning, which uses cognitive technology to analyze a massive volume of medicalrecords and perform any necessary diagnostics (Sarker, 2021).Data concepts have significantly impacted nurses’ use of evidence-based practice and theimprovement of patient clinical care by helping them make accurate judgments, receive accurateinformation at the right time to support the best clinical decision-making and provide timely andaccurate patient care. Fundamental principles underlie the organizing, analysis, and interpretationof data, and include ideas like data collection, measurement, representation, and visualization.By reflecting on how I gather and organize patient data, as well as how I use it to guide mydecision-making and provide patient care, I may find that these notions are in line with myexisting practice.Use Data Concepts in PracticeI need a solid grounding in nursing theory and practice, alongside a fundamentalunderstanding of how to gather and organize data, use statistical software and other resources toanalyze and visualize the data and collect and organize data. All of these skills are necessary toapply data concepts in having a good nursing practice.
