Answer 2 for HCA 545 Do you think that a person who needs medical care would consider the religious type of hospital before being admitted and why?
From my point of view I would say that religion is not a factor to being admitted to a hospital. Weather a patient who knows they need to be admitted or it is an emergency admittance, they are there because need some sort of live saving measure to be done. Patients are grateful for good medical staff that listen and take their concerns to heart and will go over treatment plans with them. If I was in a situation my thoughts would not be is this physician a Christian, muslin, or any other religious affiliation, I would be interested in knowing the doctors track record and history, as well as the track record of the facility that I am getting admitted to.
I don’t would say religion does not affect a patient’s outcome of care, not so much the facility more than the patient, or the patient’s family. Some religions do not believe in certain practices weather its lifesaving or not it goes against their religion. Even though health professional are obligated they do not want to face a lawsuit either. I feel that can be the hardest thing for a health professional knowing that they can save someone or offer care but when a patient refuses due to life style.
